We all get to a crossroads at some point in our lives whether as a result of something dramatic or a much quieter subtle occurrence that we have to deal with. We may not have even realised it was of any significance until a lot later in life. Hopefully when we do, we take note and give that moment its true value....

A quick note before we begin - you can hear samples of Elli's music at the end of the article and download desktop images.

You're interested in self-enlightenment methods and it's teachings. How does this help you personally?
In the big-picture, I barely recognize who I was before beginning to discover such methods and teachings in 1966, compared to who I am becoming (and we never get it "done"). The essence of that person is still here, but I've gradually eliminated a lot of typical issues which haunted me and those that remain have deeper roots, taking more work to overcome them. Now, when I get upset, I recover faster, function effectively and usually learn quickly from the experience. Also I'm told I look, seem and I feel much younger than my chronological age, which is due to dealing better and better with the things which stress out most of us. When I'm stressed, I use many methods and tricks which get to the root of it, prevent it from returning or eliminate it altogether. In my bag-of-tricks is whatever works well, including holistic methods of dealing with health. I'm seeing a new holistic doctor recommended by someone I met on Twitter (where Rajesh and I also "met"), we're addressing a list of physical issues that I'm unwilling at 72 to give in to, just aging "gracefully," and we have a very good fit.
Can you talk about a particular event where this has been paramount to change?
There are so many I don't know where to stop but here are a few highlights. In 1966, new to any sort of metaphysical work, Howi, a new musician friend who played with my then-husband Randy, in a jazz trio in Miami, gave him a session of healing work on which Howi was certifying. Randy came home after one session obviously changed and Howi offered me a trial. I was very depressed and frustrated at the time -- not unusual for me then, but things felt like they had come to a head. We recently had started experimenting with drugs and everyone we knew (except Howi, who had long-since quit) was also experimenting or worse. I didn't have a clue as to how to start singing professionally and waitressing in an after-hours jazz club only poured salt in my wounds, so I escaped more and more when not at work. I truly felt that the session wouldn't work because I believed myself to be "hopeless," but at the same time there was a tiny flicker of light and Howi seemed so cool and centered, which I desperately wanted to be. After 3/4 of an hour, I was thrilled with how I felt and went home to greet Randy and a friend who was also considering trying this work, each watching me for signals. I cracked up as soon as I started telling them about my experience, which was such a high. I've been hooked ever since. Once you touch on "who you really are," however that may happen, you know no matter what trouble you create for yourself or life brings you, there's always a way out, even though there's only that pinhole of light at the end the tunnel. That light hasn't ever gone out and now I see things from a very different perspective, but within that week, I found and landed my first singing gig at 30 (something I'd wanted since first singing jazz in public at 18). Since then, many of my creative breakthroughs have come on-the-heels of "metaphysical" work..
A more easily-describable experience happened 9 years ago. I'd taken an on-camera-commercials course a few years before, and the instructor urged me to start auditioning but I was too terrified; I took a short acting workshop and wound up in a weekly performance w/s for 2 years, but used my stage time mainly to sing and occasionally for improvizing or story-telling, still being so intimidated to act in front of the well-trained actors there. Then I heard of Law of Attraction. The first idea that sank in was "Reach for a thought that feels better" to change how I felt about something. This had never come up in my metaphysical understanding. I realized with that idea, I no longer had any excuses to be afraid to audition; there was always some thought that felt at least a tiny bit better! I only needed to think of it. I immediately got the trade paper, found some audition notices and off I went. I was soon cast in a student short as a crazy grandmother. No one realized I'd never been in a film before and the experience was as easy as water rolling off a duck's back. On-set I found myself not at all camera-shy and able to easily get in character. The director had a lot of fun with us and the short came out well and gave me the confidence to go on many other auditions from which I've been cast in my share of roles. Auditioning is usually very comfortable, as is acting, particularly when there's some leeway, my favorite roles being improvisational. That hooked me on the Teachings of Abraham of which I'm still a big fan, collecting quotes and spreading the word about Law of Attraction which years later was featured in "The Secret" and many subsequent films, books and courses.
Another example was a month ago. I was on the phone when the cell rang and, not getting who it was who was calling, I told him I'd get back to him. I then said to my friend that since I hadn't had any bookings in months, I was fed up and was going to find something! When I called the other caller back, it turned out we'd known each other in my old neighborhood before he moved away a few years earlier and had not been in touch since and was calling to ask me to do a series of jazz gigs he was producing, for which he thought I'd be the perfect fit. We worked things out and everything was on according to his plan for 4 Sunday jazz evenings, but he extended it that night to 2 months, and, so far, 3 additional gigs have also fallen into place elsewhere! From 0 to 13 bookings in a very short time! They say, "good things happen in groups," a perfect example of Law of Attraction; work begets work; birds of a feather flock together, like attracts like; all ways of describing that phenomenon. The opposite is also true: if you stub your toe in the morning it often becomes a day on which you wish you hadn't gotten out of bed. The trick with using Law of Attraction is learning to do so intentionally, especially when good things are not falling into your lap. A course I recently spent time on and recommend for expanding those skills is Mark Joyner's Great Teachers Series, Law of Attraction Course. It combines LOA with the learning skills created for Mark's very effective Simpleology training. It's the best recombination of methods and understandings I've seen and raised my skills quickly.

At the Cannes 2009 advertising festival, Schematic (interactive agency) showcased its 12 foot by 5 foot multi-touch wall. Schematic is the same company who helped come up with the futuristic advertising on Minority Report. The team have been working endlessly to turn concepts into reality. They latest project was featured at 2009 Cannes Advertising Festival the interface is packed with maps, schedules and social networking software; the wall is multi-touch, so that many people could interact with the wall at once.
It also includes a built-in RFID, which allowed convention-goers to simply flash a badge, and have the touchwall recognize exactly who they were and where they've been. It's being rolled out in France next month....

On April 14 2008 in San Francisco, an English "reverse grafitti" artist and a critically acclaimed documentary filmmaker came together while the city slept, to create an environmentally friendly work of art and a film about the philosophy of clean.
San Francisco’s Broadway tunnel is a highly traveled thoroughfare in the heart of the city. Over 20,000 cars, trucks, and motorized vehicles pass through it per day. Its walls are caked with dirt and soot, and lined with patches of paint covered graffiti from days gone by. It set the perfect canvas to create a beautiful work of art showcasing the talents of reverse graffiti artist “Moose”, and the power of Green Worksplant based cleaner.

Great composition photography and landscape. It uses the old worn photograph colour treatment that makes this very atmospheric. Also uses very subtle graphic and type treatments which makes me feel all fuzzy inside, love it.....

Grzegorz has a variety of techniques and styles: Everything from traditional pencil drawing or pen to vector, watercolor, pastel and oil, combined and/or mixed with digital media like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. His illustrations have a dark edgy feel to them, as if looking into the inner soul of the characters portrayed. My warped darker side loves it! His website is definitely worth browsing through. Following the images below you can read more about the man himself...

How long have been doing this?
I guess I can honestly say: right from the very beginning. I have always loved drawing, ever since I was a small child. I could always be spotted with a crayon, pencil or a pen in my hand... Thus, it was pretty obvious what I would major in and what I would devote myself to after the graduation. And, yes, I enjoy it greatly.
What got you involved?
I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in my hometown Poznań (Poland), where I received my diploma (the so called Master's Degree) in Graphic Arts (Metal Techniques ) and Drawing. The year was 2003. Having graduated from the Academy, I felt like trying something new, so I turned myself towards design... I began as a simple illustrator and continued my first steps in the field of graphic design! Now, I focus on illustrations with design elements, graphic design (CD packaging etc.) and storyboards. I also return to my art whenever I have spare time.
Funny Stories?
We all detest clients with their "I-want-my-logo-bigger" approach, but it can always get worse: a few years back, a friend of mine had a major client who sent him a large size photography of a car... It was a side view and the client requested him to quickly "turn the car to the front in Photoshop"... It surely made me laugh.
Inspiration?
I find inspiration in almost everything that surrounds me. Whether it is television, cinema, literature, music or the web, I always seek to find something fresh, inspiring and creative! But I should also mention some people who really mean a lot to me and who inspire me greatly: Non-Format, Hort for the design, Mario Hugo, Mostly Wanted, Von from illustrators and Albrecht Durer, Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, Anselm Kiefer and Stephan Balleux from the art field! These are just the few...
Creative process?
It all starts with a concept and a quick sketch... Then, I make a precise drawing, where I use either a pencil or a pen (sometimes both). Subsequently, it is all about the digital magic - usually the Photoshop combined with Illustrator. Then, the time comes for a great deal of effects, textures, filters etc. Recently, I have also started to add some self-made type elements, but I am still a rookie, when it comes to typography.
Hopes?
I hope I will never burn out and that my works will inspire people.
Future works?
There has been going on quite a lot recently. For example, I have been working on a t-shirt for Ardentees and I have been creating an interactive comic book for a major client. Furthermore, I have not discarded my personal projects to which I always turn in my leisure time. I have plenty of ideas all the time and I most definitely intend to continue with all the illustration and design stuff.
Do you have any exhibitions planned ?
At present I have only the "CLONE Special Graphic" exhibition which takes place in Spain (it features two of my digital works).

THE TRUTH
Death is food.
Food is energy.
Energy is power.
Power is focus.
Focus is completion.
Completion is death.
BLANK - John Blank Must Die is an online comic with keeps many readers up-to-date via its twitter feed. But who are the guys behind the artwork and storyline and why must John Blank die?
The first issue of Wired magazine that we can remember had the headline: "Privacy. Get Over It." We might restate that as: "Access and Transparency. Get With It!"

Name of Studio: The Brothers of the Silence
Who are the main faces behind John Blank Must Die?
Don Richmond and Ian LeWinter. We are the Brothers of the Silence, creators of Blank - The Graphic Novel, part one of the trilogy. Ian is the writer and creative strategist. Don is the writer/illustrator and creative strategist. We come from a visual media background. We met and 2006 and decided to launch Blank in May 2009 as the first graphic novel in history to launch on Facebook and Twitter with individual network specific content.
Blank is a literary franchise that defies genre. It is a McLuhan hot and cool media experience; which is to say, an experience that vacillates between passive, singular visual media and active, multiple-sense media requiring abstract thought and deep pattern recognition. The namesake hero, John Blank, has what psychologists term a compromised ego integrity -- one that is continually fragmented and redefined, possessing no reliable sense of self apart from his unique capability to kill. The antagonist, Ouranos Gaia, has a psychopathic megalomania that stems from a mythic iconography which has been nurtured by his family for generations. The child-ghost Angel is a goddess and foundational soul for all humanity and for all of the trilogy.
The Blank trilogy is being launched on several social media platforms with a new 2-page spread viewable every other day. The pages are always viewable free on the website: JohnBlankMustDie.com. Before the project is over, for us to accomplish our goals, we will have published a three-part graphic novel series, negotiated a motion picture deal and produced spin-off books.
How long have you been doing this?
Book One of Blank, is our first novel, which launched May 1 of 2009. But we've been creating art pretty much since kindergarten. No one becomes an artist by choice. We consider ourselves already dead, with a last-second chance to live one more day to tell our story. We exploit everything about that day. Our motto is "I am not here." That defines our outlook and is the reason we can focus on our single-minded purpose of telling the earth about Blank.
What got you involved?
Don said, "Hey, let's do a graphic novel." Ian said, "I've been working on a story since I was fourteen. It goes like this..."
Individual background?
We come from visual media background. Both of us individually owned successful design studios. We decided to form the Brothers of the Silence and to create the first graphic novel in history to launch on Facebook and Twitter, and to be the first to truly leverage the power of social media.
Funny stories?
Spell check before posting. John Blank was not the victim of a hate crime because of sexual orientation (homocide), he was a murder victim (homicide). Oh well, thank God for the fastidious -- and forgiving -- fans.
Inspiration?
For writers, there are three hotspots of great creative energy right now: graphic novels, graphic novels and graphic novels. This genre is coming into its silver age, a time of limitless creativity and boundless depth. Look for great work here for the next half a century.
Our advice to anyone is stay true to your vision. Learn the fundamentals, then throw them away. Pay attention to what moves you -- and we mean really moves you. If you want the who earth to perish, then so be it. If you want to have a character talk in an archaic, biblical fashion, then go for it. If you want your 12-year-old heroine to have skeletal hands, right on. Dozens of people may offer advice on what they would do instead. Thank them for their wonderful input and then go write YOUR story. If you stay true to your vision, then there isn't any reason that your project can ever be anything but a success.
Hopes?
Don: I hope Ian doesn't figure out he's already dead before we are finished. But, then again, he can't be trusted.
Ian: I hope I don't die before we are finished. But, then again, I can't be trusted.
Future works?
Books 2 and 3 of the Blank series. Then, on to a new franchise.
Do you have any exhibitions planned?
Yes. Every other day you can see a new full-page spread on www.JohnBlankMustDie.com. That's a new page every day, posted as a new two-page spread every other day. Social media is affording an unparalleled access and transparency. Writers are just now realizing that they can communicate with millions of people with little capital investment. The first issue of Wired magazine that we can remember had the headline: "Privacy. Get Over It." We might restate that as: "Access and Transparency. Get With It!" We made up our minds never to be hidden or unavailable.

This I got to say is quite something especially on the "I've got the patience to do this front" and to think all I do on my post-its is doodle, make lists and the odd origami frog!!
Background from the maker: This is my senior project at Savannah College of Art and Design. Where my idea comes from is that every time when I am busy, I feel that I am not fighting with my works, I am fighting with those post-it notes and deadline. I manipulating the post-it notes to do pixel-like stop motion and there are some interactions between real actor and post-its.

Melodesigns is a partnership between design consultant Chris Kane and artist Luiz Melo. We offer a bespoke Interior Decoration Service and a dramatic range of hand painted decorative art. They work in the residential and commercial market and are just as happy to discuss very individual projects.

Who are the main faces behind this?
Artist Luiz Melo and Interior Designer Chris Kane
Chris Kane - Design Consultant. Chris has been working in the interiors market for the past five years.
With a twelve year background in fashion and business management working for international brands including Arcadia and Jigsaw,he took his creative and business skills and applied them to interiors. Chris spent three years as Brand Manager of a successful independant furniture retailer, and has been working with his own private clients offering a design consultation service over the past two years.
Luiz Melo - The artist. Luiz Melo was born and educated in Minas Gerais in south west Brazil where he learnt to draw and paint, inspired by his natural vibrant surroundings. He began experimenting with water colours and charcoal on canvas constantly developing his technique and inspirations from landscape scenes from his childhood to more abstract appreciations of landscape and colour itself. Luiz moved to London 10 years ago and began developing his own abstract marbling technique working primarliy with glass. His work represents his personal vibrancy and sensitivity, reflecting his Latin American passion for intense colour. The current range of unique decorative objects epitomise Luiz Melo's relationship with art as freedom, the freedom of things to choose what they will become and to form and name themselves...
What got you involved?
Luiz Melo- since moving to the UK from Brazil in 2000, I simply decided to follow my dream to be an artist
Chris Kane- became involved in the interiors market in 2004 after a career change and decided to study part time.
Individual Background?
Chris Kane - Raised in Scotland, moved to London in 1996, had a 12 year career in business management in the retail sector before becoming involved in interiors
Luiz Melo - Brazilian, studied and taught linguistics in Barzil before relocating to London in 2000
Funny Stories?
From as early as 8 or 9 Chris was rearranging his Mum's furniture and accessories and painting his bedroom all sorts of colours...
Inspiration?
Luiz remembers one time as a small child in the Brazilian countryside being fascinated by the colours and shapes of some petrol he saw floating on a puddle. Interestingly it was this memory that was the spark that made him develop his unique style of marbling with paint.
The current range of unique decorative objects epitomises Luiz's relationship with art as freedom, the freedom of things to choose what they will become and to form and name themselves.
" I let paint and matter flow through and over one another , the individual form and shape of each object and each drop of paint deciding what their union will create." Luiz Melo
Chris Kane- "I believe that we are all creating in some way all of the time. I think doing this in a home environment can be a very grounding experience and where better to feel that than in your home. There is energy in everything, colour, shapes, balancing and flow of space, so your environment can be a place that sustains your own to inspire you to keep on creating, to keep moving forward, which for me is the essence of life."
Hopes?
To work full time for ourselves and keep adding to the scope of our business. To have our own shop selling Luiz'z artwork and Chris's design consultation services
Future works?
Watch this space...who knows!!
Do you have any exhibitions planned ?
Just attended and exhibitted an event in Hampshire with seven other specialist retailers, a great response with several sales and private comissions
