A beautifully illustrated video accompanying the calming sound all directed by Blind....

For the founder of The Cinematic Orchestra – Jason Swinscoe – working life began at Ninja Tune, the London-based independent record label. Here, Swinscoe would distribute records by day, while by night he’d develop a sound that would eventually evolve into The Cinematic Orchestra.

Swinscoe introduced further like-minded musicians to the act and soon after, a string of albums emerged. Following their 1999 debut album, Motion, they have released Every Day (2002), Man With A Camera (2003) and Ma Fleur (2007). As well as a soundtrack for Disneynature called The Crimson Wing (2009), they've also come out with Live At The Royal Albert Hall (2008), Remixes 1998-2000 (2000) and have the compilation album, Late Night Tales, planned for April 2010.

Their popularity and growing reputation amongst critics is largely down to their unique sound. Their diverse, imaginative, jazz improvised, electronic approach was praised by Uncut magazine as “every hard-boiled neon-lit Hollywood thriller you’ve ever seen.”

A visual treat with the music video by Kanye West performing POWER. Whether you like him or not the on screen image is captivating although I still need to read more regarding the meaning behind the images. For now read the notes below to give you an idea.

The one-take "Power" video starts with a stylized shot of a dark-clad West with glowing eyes, surrounded by pillars and wearing a 15-pound Horus piece around his neck. The camera pulls back to reveal the rapper on a living canvas, surrounded by mythological chaos: angels and nymphs cavort around him, levitating servants pour water upside-down onto their faces, two sword-swinging goons come flying at each other in slow-mo, and a giant sword threads through a halo above West's head.

Marco Brambilla, who directed the video, recently told Vulture that the theme of "Power" was a fall from grace; a visual metaphor for his high-profile plummet last year after stealing the mic from Taylor Swift at the VMAs.

"It visualizes power, and him as the icon as power," said the director, who West hand-picked after seeing his "Civilization" installation at the Standard Hotel. "At the end of the piece it challenges the power that I set up at the beginning. It's an elliptical piece of storytelling."
