EXTRACT FROM ARTICLE:
For a dozen years I contributed a small feature in each issue of Print called "Separated At Birth." The concept was simple: To reveal (or call out, if you prefer) design and designers who were (knowingly or not) overly influenced or had decidedly copied another person's design or illustration. Similarly, Mirko Ilic frequently posts on Imprint examples of commonly repeated design tropes and cliches (often found in movie posters). Together we authored Icons of Graphic Design and Anatomy of Design, each addressing how repetitive visual language fosters look-a-like results. Copy cats prevail in every art form, but in graphic design they seem to take extra liberties. And this is not a contemporary phenom.

In this issue of CR, I talk to Coca-Cola archivist, Ted Ryan, about the history of the brand's 125 year-old identity, explored in a new show at the Design Museum. One of the highlights of the display is a book documenting the design and build of their first neon sign for Piccadilly Circus, in 1954...

With tv spots like these it almost makes it worth watching the programmes that interrupt them!

Delightful characters created to portray the many uses of the service, very enchanting shorts. I would love to see these over here in the UK. As the ads roll on and there are many of them the little "people" grow on you as much as their language. Excellent, amusing, informative and memorable.... love the laugh used throughout.
Six months ago, Vodafone briefed its agency, Ogilvy India, to create uncommon characters a common thread to link the ads in the campaign together. Rajiv Rao, executive creative director, South Asia, Ogilvy India, tells afaqs! that the only starting point for the team was that the character had to be simple to a stupefying level. And thus, the Zoozoo was born.
No, they arent animated characters. They are human beings who were made to wear body suits. The design of the characters is such that one gets fooled into thinking it is animation, shrugs Rao, which was indeed the very illusion that had to be created. In a sense, it is live animation! he quips, referring to the fact that it was all shot live.
Prakash Varma, ad filmmaker, Nirvana Films, has directed the commercials, and reveals that the Zoozoos were a big challenge to create. The practical aspects of how they will move, talk, gesticulate and emote were very important. Essentially, costume design and artwork were crucial elements.

I thought when you create an advert for any product one of the goals is to make sure there is no room for argument. As much as it saddens me the arguments from the male perspective seem weak. Many men do that and more, so?
A weak reason to get the car you really want..... Any thoughts?
The engine does sound nice though.... : )
You've sacrificed a lot, but surely there is a limit to your chivalry. Drive the car you want to drive.
Women have their say about that Superbowl Dodge Charger ad.
