Benedict Redgrove - Photos to Zen

by R27 CREATIVELAB on Wednesday 15 October 2008

Benedict Redgrove took time out and shared a few words with R27.

Benedict Redgrove sees beauty in utilitarian spaces and structures and is excited by good design and functionality.

His meticulously crafted photographs range in scope from vast landscapes to intimate interiors, cars and technology, epic set ups and close-up still life. Strong, striking and inherently stylish, his work has an uncommonly clean graphic quality, resulting from Benedict's subtle experimentations with light and composition, angles and scale.

Bens inspiration comes from a variety of angles, cinema, architecture, graphic design and calm. He has a background in graphic design although focusing his time on photography for the last 9 years. He spends time in both London and New York and is represented by Balconyjump and Walter Schupfer respectively.

When asked what got him involved his answer was simply "wanting to feel free... and I do," he said.

What does the future hold for Ben? An exhibition is planned for next year so watch this space and a book reflecting on the places and spaces hes personally experienced.

A few samples of work are shown below:

Is it just me or does the image above remind you of the Lotus from "The Spy Who Loved Me"...
