They say don't judge a book by its cover.... I say why the hell not! Below the simplicity of treatment is perfect and makes the books very 'pickable' (is that a real word?)
Penguin books senior cover designer Coralie Bickford-Smith's intricately patterned hardback classics will hit the U.S. tomorrow. The series was originally released in the U.K. last fall and distributed exclusively through Waterstones.
Coralie Bickford-Smith is a senior cover designer at Penguin Books, where she has created several series designs. She studied typography at Reading university and has recently been sharing her experience with students at London College of Communication encouraging a sense of play in the process of design.
